MASTERTON CLUB. OPENING OF SEASON. The Masterton Amateur Athletic Club opened its season last night with an evening run. There was a good attendance of competitors and spectators. The following are the results:— 50 yards senior handicap:—H. Sharpies, 1; J. Polson, 2; E. C. Martin, 3. 75 yards senior handicap:—J. Eastwood, 1; J. Polson. 2; E. C. Martin, 3. Junior 50 yards handicap:—B. Selby, 1; J. McCormack, 2; E. Jaspers. 3. Junior 75 yards handicap:—M. Doyle, 1; J. McCormack, 2; B. Selby, 3. Ladies’ 75 yards handicap:—W. Nyhan and J. Grantham, dead heat, 1; O’Neill, 2. One mile senior handicap: —Sellar, 1; Brannigan, 2; Falloon, 3. Putting the shot:—W. Burns, 1; A. Curtis, 2; F. Bodie, 3. Boys, 50 yards handicap:—J. Hod-, getts, 1; M. Voyce, 2; E. McNealige. 3. Boys’ 75-yards handicap:—H. Voyce. 1; M. Voyce, 2; Hodgetts, 3. Half-mile bicycle handicap:—Woollett, 1. Gooding, 2. The following are the events to be decided on Wednesday evening next: — Seniors: —75 yards handicap, 100 yards handicap, one mile; juniors 75 yards handicap, 100 yards handicap; ladies’ 50 yards handicap. 75 yards handicap; javelin and long jump.
