President Roosevelt today told the Press that maintenance of the United States neutrality would cost 275,000.000 dollars during the first 10 months of the war. The chief items were the increase of 100,000.000 in the armed forces, anti-espionage agents, recommissioning of 50 Great War destroyers, and maintenance of the neutrality zone patrol. (It was recently reported that the American armed forces are being increased to the full peace time number of 280.000 men).
