Two notable, although unfortunately only temporary, additions to the exhibits at the Logan Park Art Gallery, Dunedin, are a pair of portraits by the famous Scottish artist, ,Sir Henry Raeburn, which have been lent to the gallery for some months by Mr and Mrs G. W. Scott, of Timaru. The portraits, which are typical examples of Raeburn’s work, are of two brothers, Alexander and John Home, and before being brought to New Zealand were in possession of the Home family in Tasmania, in which country they remained for at least 100 years. As part of a legacy, they became the property of Mr and Mrs Scott.
