GARDEN COMPETITION
ENTRIES VERY DISAPPOINTING.
ONLY 16 RECEIVED THIS YEAR. The entries received for the garden competition being promoted by the Masterton Horticultural Society are very disappointing. Only sixteen have come to hand this year, as compared with 42 last year. Three of this year’s entries are in the half-acre class, the remainder being in the quarter-acre section. A meeting of the committee is being held tonight to consider the position. The view is held by some members that unless better support is forthcoming from the public, the society will have no option but to discontinue the competitions.
