Labour Party and Conscription.

At the iponthly meeting of the Pahiatua Labour Representation Committee, held in Dannevirke, the following resolution was adopted, to be forwarded to the Prime Minister: “That this committee, representing the voice of the Labour Party in the Pahiatua electorate, supports compulsory service for the prosecution of the war against Nazi dictatorship and oppression, provided always that universal conscription of wealth as expressed in goods and services precedes the conscription of manpower.’’
