During a visit paid to the Continent in July, the Rev W. Bower Black, minister of St David’s Presbyterian Church, Auckland, was impressed by the courteous and friendly feelings shown everywhere. Nevertheless, there was a slight undercurrent of nervous feeling apparent. Mr Black has returned to Auckland with his wife after a nine months’ world tour, which embraced, amongst other places, German and France. His impressions of Germany were of comparative peace. Young people were happy and singing, and soldiers with whom he travelled on trains were most courteous. During his sojourn in Britain, Mr Black attended the General Assembly at Edinburgh, where Re spoke for the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand.
