MOTQRI?TS’ OPPORTUNITY, SPECIAL PETROL ALLOWANCE, Of special interest to motorists desirous of making a holiday to the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition in Wellington, which is to be officially opened by the Governor-General on Wednesday, November 8, is the recent statement of the Minister of Supply, the Hqn. D. G. Sullivan, that those who wish to make 1 a holiday trip between now and December 1 can lodge an application for a special petrol licence with their district postmasters. When justified, special licences will be granted authorising the consumption of not more than 30 gallons for cars over 14 h.p. (R.A.C. rating), and 20 gallons for cars under that rating. This additional supply for special holiday trips is jn addition to the increased allowance for November, but will be covered by the regular coupon system. These special facilities for an adequate supply of petrol for bona fide holiday makers planning trips of at least 5 or 6 days provide a special and Valuable opportunity for those with cars—especially those with families—to go to the Centennial Exhibition by car for the period up to December 1. A hew Motor Camp equipped with the most up-to-date facilities has been especially established in Wellington, accessibly situated in beautiful surroundings at Miramar, only a few minutes drive from the Exhibition grounds, apd space at the camp will be available for some hundreds of cars. There is also parking accommodation at oy dose to the Exhibition for 1200 cars. For those who do not wish to camp, there will be ample accommodation available in Wellington. Accommodation can be arranged in advance by writing to the Official Accommodation Bureau, P.O. Box 544, Wellington, or a printed' form, ‘•How to obtain Accommodation” can be secured from any Post Office or Railway Station.
