A feature of the interior decoration in the tower block'at the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition are the three fine murals by the New Zealand artist—Russell Clark. They are set in panels surrounded with a border of kauri and oak leaves and English tudor roses and mountain lilies, symbolising the link between England and the Dominion. They are set in commanding positions in the foyer to the vast festival hall. One represents the bounty of nature and is a particularly pleasing conception, taking the form of a young girl holding a salver of fruits. Opposite, at the other end of the foyer, is a panel representing industry with the dramatic figure of a workman standing in front of- factory chimneys. The third panel is placed above the main door to the hall itself, and depicts the departure of the ship “Tory" from Plymouth about 1840. This picture has action and atmosphere i and the colour and design are beaub tifully executed.
