CRICKET SEASON PROMISING PLAYERS AVAILABLE. i (“Times-Age” Special.) As the cricket season is now approaching, members of the local club will hold their annual meeting shortly. There are reported to be several promising young cricketers in the district. It is to be hoped that the various clubs in Featherston district will amalgamahte, as Featherston could then field teams in inter-club games. WELCOME RAIN FEED FOR STOCK SHORT. Very wintry conditions were experienced in Featherston and lower valley yesterday, several showers of hail falling throughout the day. Newly shorn sheep in exposed areas, must have suffered intensely. The heavy rain, however, would be very welcome to farmers in the Pahautea, Pukio and Kahautara districts, which were very short of feed. ' Personal. Mr and Mrs Udy, Waikanae, were the guests of Mrs J. Thompson, of Kahautara for the Udy-Browne wedding. There was a fair attendance at the dance and euchre party, held at Kahautara East. The winners of the euchre were: —Ladies, Mrs Simonds, 1; Mrs Matunga, 2; Men, Mr G. Enoka, 1; Mr Udy, 2. Gala At Kahutara. A gala is to be held on December 2 at Kahautara.
