FRIEND OF HITLER
♦ ACTRESS LENI RIEFENSTAHL. ARRESTED BY GESTAPO. The Paris radio states that the Nazi secret police have arrested Leni Riefenstahl, the film star friend of Herr Adolf Hitler. The alluring Leni Riefenstahl, who is half-Jewish, became a film director when only 25 years old. She organised and controlled film propaganda for the Fuhrer and moved about with him socially. Her word governed anything to do with a camera in Germany. While conjectures about romance have been denied in the Reich, border State newspapers have continued to toy with the idea that some day she might become Frau Hitler. Leni Riefenstahl is a beautiful blonde, handsomely gowned, clever, assured, and busy with all sorts of Reich affairs which have nothing to do with films. She emerged as a popular moving picture actress in Berlin, her native city. Her first pictures were “The Holy Mountain" and “The White Holl of Pitz Palu."
