EKETAHUNA

NIREAHA TENNIS CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Nireaha Tennis Club, Mr Mills presided over a good attendance. Mr Eric Niederer was elected president and Mr Cyril Goss secretary. It was decided to open the season on Sunday. The club has suffered a severe loss on account of several good players leaving the district. These included Messrs Lawrence, Wright, E. B. Terry and Mr and Mrs Lozell. HASTWELLS TENNIS CLUB SEASONED OPENED. The Hastwells Tennis Club had a very successful opening for the season. Mr H. Greathead, patron of the club, addressed those present, and Mrs Madsen hit the first ball over the net. In the evening a very enjoyable dance was held. Miss Nancy Nahona was the winner of the ladies’ first prize, and Mrs Madsen, after cutting off with Miss Elva Dick, secured the consolation prize. Mr Claude Seymour was first in the men’s section and Mr Don Falkner won the consolation. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss E. Larsen and Mr V. Nielsen. Successful Pig Breeder. Further evidence that Mr A. G. Golder, of Nireaha, is conducting his business of pig breeding on right lines was forthcoming at the Carterton Show when he won a championship and several first prizes" against very keen competition.
