RESTRICTION OPPOSED. BY FARMERS' UNION COUNCIL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, October 26. At a meeting of the Provincial Council of the Farmers’ Union it was stated that the council would resist to the utmost the Government’s restriction of stock auction prices. A motion was carried unanimously “That in view of the farmers’ alarm in connection with Burnside prices, the council approach the Minister requesting all auction stock sales to be exempt from the price regulations, as in England.”
