NEW ZEALAND SPINACH

MOST SUITABLE FOR DRY DISTRICTS. The ordinary round summer spinach is liable to run to seed very quickly during summer weather. The New Zealand variety of spinach will continue to supply plenty of succulent foliage throughout the dry weather of summer, if an occasional watering is given during dry periods. Seeds sown now will provide plenty of plants. When large enough, transplant to thirty inches apart, as the plants will run along the ground. The shoots should be picked regularly, whether they are required for use or not. If left too long they become tough. It is the young, fresh growth which makes such a tasty dish.
