During the Great War French troops wore a horizon blue uniform. This was discarded some years ago, and today French troops are clad the same as the British allies —in khaki. The "Blue Devils,” or Chasseurs, famous French alpine troops, however, have been allowed to retain their traditional dark blue. So wholeheartedly, indeed, have the French adopted khaki that for some time it has been the standard colour of the uniforms of the French police.
