Mr Chamberlain instructed all Government Departments to co-operate with the Trades Union Congress and affiliated unions. The Trades Union Congress Council, in a statement, said consultations were already being held and representatives had been appointed to a committee advising the Ministry of Supply. Representatives had also been appointed to advise the Ministry of Food and arrangements were being made for consultations with the Ministry of Economic Warfare and the Board of Trade.
