The Dornei Agency states that large quantities of arms and munitions are flowing into '-Szechwan Province from Chinese Turkestan. At least three hundred Russian lorries arrive each night at Chengto, east of Chungking, returning ( with silver, silk, wood, oil and skins. It is estimated that ten thousand’ vehicles ply between Szechwan and outlying Russian trading posts. The personnel of the Soviet trading agency at Chungking numbers over 300. General Volkoff, Chief of the Soviet Military Mission, confers with General Kai-Shek almost daily. Soviet troops in Chungking are estimated to exceed a thousand.
