PETROL COUPONS
FORGERIES IN CIRCULATION. SUPPLY STATIONS WARNED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. Forged petrol coupons are in circulation, so motorists who call at any petrol station for “a fill up” need have no feeling of alarm if a bowser attendant subjects the coupons to close scrutiny. The bogus coupons are described as “a good imitation,” but there are two marked variations by which they can be distinguished from the genuine ones issued by the Government. Particulars of these discrepancies have been furnished to all supply stations, and it is anticipated that now the facts are known attempts to obtain petrol by the illegal use of forgeries will be very few. —
