Proposals by the Salvation Army to cater for men in military camps were mentioned by the chairman, Mr W. B. Darlow, at a meeting of the Auckland Harbour oßard. He said that the Salvation Army desired to get the use of one of the board’s sheds as a clubhouse for soldiers. That, however, was impossible. They had then asked for the use of a portion of the old dock site, where a temporary building or a marquee could be erected. The chairman said that personally he was in favour of a marquee, which could be removed at the will of the board. The matter was .referred to the board in committee.
