GOLD MINING RETURNS
Gillespie’s Beach reports a washtip for two days’ dredging of 16oz 13dwt, from 5200 cubic yards, in 43 hours. The dredge will be stopped for probably four weeks while auxiliary pontoons are being attached. (By TelegrapH—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 24. The Mataki dredge reports a return for the week ended October 20 of 260 z from 11,500 cubic yards worked in 130 hours. DUNEDIN, October 24. The Clutha River Drerge at Alexandra worked 126 hours for 550 z of gold. The Okarito dredge washup was 320 z 13dwt for 129 hours.
