The Associated Auctioneers report their weekly sale at' Pahiatua as follows: —A good yarding of sheep, dairy cattle and pigs were offered to a fair attendance of buyers. Hoggets in wool met with keen competition, and ewes with ‘lambs at foot were eagerly sought after', dairy heifers (only medium sorts) were in lighter demand, but weaner dairy heifers sold more freely, while a keen demand for pigs still exists. Quotations: —Wether hoggets (medium), 19s 9d, 18s 9d, 18s 3d to 18s, (small), 16s. Ewe hoggets small 23s 2d, 21s 9d to 19s Id. Ewes with lambs at foot, ewes low, but even in mouth (all counted), 15s 9d, young ewes with lambs at foot (all counted), 18s fat wethers (shorn), 225. Maiden fat ewes, shorn, 17s 6d, dairy heifers, medium sorts, £6, £7 ss, £7 to £6. Weaner dairy heifers, £4 17s 6d, £4 Is, £3 14s to £3 10s. Fat cows (ex dairy, £6 ss. Pigs, light porkers, £1 17s, weaners (good), £1 5s 6d, £1 ss, £1 4s 6d, £1 3s to £1 Is.
