WEDDING

REES—AVERY. The wedding of Hilda Barbara Yvonne Avery, of “Brightfields," Pahiatua, to Edward Thomas Rees, of Napier, was solemnised at St Peter's Anglican Church, Pahiatua recently, the Rev K. Button performing the ceremony. Mrs Adams, of Pahiatua, was matron of honour, Mr Freedman, of Napier, best man, while the bride was escorted by her brother-in-law, Mr Geo Cross, of Wanganui, who gave her away. At the conclusion of the ceremony, as Mr and Mrs Rees were leaving the church the bride was presented by little Eswyth Holdaway with a lucky silver horseshoe. A reception was held later at “Brightfields,” at which Mrs Geo. Cross and Mrs'Chas Holdaway, sisters of the bride, received the guests. Mr and Mrs Rees are spending their honeymoon on a motor tour of the North Island before settling down in their new home at Greenmeadows. Napier.
