COMPULSORY SERVICE IN AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. PERTH, October 22. The Leader of the Federal Opposition, Mr J. Curtin, stated that the Labour Party would regard the Commonwealth Government’s compulsory service decision as a departure from the policy on which Parliament was elected. He added that the Labour Party is irrevocably opposed to any departure from the principle of volunteer training and service for Australia's manpower.
