FINLAND'S STAND
FINAL TERMS SUBMITTED TO SOVIET RESOLVE TO GO NO FURTHER. DEFENCE LOAN ISSUED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. LONDON, October 21. Finland is issuing a 500,0000,90 marks (about £1.900.000) defence loan, states a message from Helsinki. The frontier districts are closed to travellers. The Finnish delegates. Dr Paaskivi. is taking definite counter-proposals to Moscow? and Finland is resolved to go no further. Copenhagen reports that the Scandinavian and Finnish papers are all satisfied with the results of the Stockholm conference. The Oslo “Morgenbladel” emphasises that the time was not found ripe for a peace appeal to the belligerents.
