PLANS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF SICILY TWENTY THOUSAND SMALL FARMS. EARNEST OF PEACEFUL AIMS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 10.45 a.m.) NEW YORK. October 22. The Associated Press of America Rome correspondent says that in connection with the Sicilian development scheme Signor Mussolini’s decree involves ten years’ work, costing £20.000.000 of which the Government provides half, in order to break up 1,250,000 acres of landed estates into twenty thousand small farms, once again making Sicily Italy’s breadbasket. Officials declare that the plan is an earnest of Mussolini’s peaceful intentions.
