The annual grasslands conference will be held this year at Lincoln College, commencing on October 31 and concluding on November 2. The two. first days will be devoted to papers and the third to Canterbury farming in relation to the needs of the war. The conference is held alternately in the North and South Islands. Last year it was held at Hamilton and the preceding year at Dunedin. The policy at the conference is to devote special attention to pastures in the province in which the gathering is held, and the forthcoming conference should therefore produce special consideration of the pasture problems peculiar to Canterbury.
