NO MUNITIONS

1 CARRIED BY ATHENIA LITTLE CARGO ON BOARD. STATEMENT BY OFFICER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 1.25 p.m.) . MONTREAL, October 18. An officer of the Donaldson Atlantic Line denied that the Athenia carried arms or munitions as alleged by a passenger. “She had only a small cargo of SBO tons aboard,” he stated, “consisting of firebricks, whisky, soft goods, steel, machinery and small merchandise. It is apparent that with only 380 tons, no munitions could possibly have been carried.”
