ENEMY PLANES
* SIGHTED NEAR SCAPA FLOW. NO BOMBS DROPPED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, October 18. The Air Ministry announced that enemy aircraft, apparently on a reconnaissance flight, were seen approaching Scapa Flow from the direction of Kirkwall and Duncansby Head. No bombs were dropped. WARNING IN ORKNEYS (Received This Day. 11.15 a.m.) LONDON. October 18. An air raid warning was sounded at the Orkneys this morning, but the "all clear" was sounded after an hour.
