ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS.
J. C. D., Carterton:—Siegmund is a six-year-old gelding by Siegfried from Lilimond, and trained by H. B. Corrigan for Mr F. Kettlewell. Lilimond is by Limond from Farce, by San Fran or Absurd from Cowl, by King Rufus, and Siegmund is her first living foal. Last season Siegmund started 30 times for four wins; three seconds, and four thirds. Under 8.0 he won the Autumn Handicap, mile and a distance, at Woodville in Imin 55 1-ssec,. the Wan - ganui Cup. mile and four and a-halfi. furlongs, with 8.2, in 2min 59 l-ssec, the, Hastings Handicap, mile and a quarter, with 8.6, in 2min 6 3-ssec, and the Great Autumn Handicap, mile and ahalf, with 8.2, in 2min 32sec. In the latter race Arctic King 8.11 anxl Dictate 7.7 were second and third. In last year’s Cup he carried 7.11 and ran unplaced. He did not start in the Wellington Cup last season. As a four-year-old he started 27 times for six wins, four seconds, and four thirds; as a three-year-old he had three wins out of 14 starts; and as a two-year-old one second out of nine starts.
