RETURN GOLF MATCH FOREST DOWNS WIN TROPHY. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the Forest Downs links a return golf match was played between Makarewa and Forest Downs for the rose bowl, the match resulting in a win for Makarewa by 10 matches to 7. The previous match was won by Forest Downs by 13 to 3, this making the result 20 to 13 in favour of Forest Downs. MacDonald beat H. Milner; W. Heckler beat P. A. Cameron; D. Bennett beat W. Cheetham; 'F. McDonald beat H. Malabar. Ladies’games: Miss P. Bennett lost to Miss M. Tildesley; Mrs L. Dagg lost to Miss E. Heckler; Mrs C. Judd’lost to Mrs W. Cheetham. The fourballs resulted in Makarewa winning by 4 to 1. TENNIS ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Mauriceville Tennis Club was held on Thursday night in the Mauriceville East supper room. The following officers were elected: — President, Mrs C. M. Childs; club captain, Mr H. Milner; committee, Messrs H. Myers, T. Larsen, A. Wilkins, Misses J. McGovern and E. Wilkins. The club at present is in a very financial position. The resignation of the secretary, Mr K. Palmer, was accepted. Mr Palmer had, for the last four years, carried out his duties very satisfactorily. The committee has decided to open the season on October 21 and also to run a dance on October 26 in the local hall. DAIRY CO. MEETING OF DIRECTORS. At the monthly meeting of the directors of the Mauriceville Dairy Co., Mr V. K. Lemberg presided over a full attendance. The output for September (73 tons) showed a decrease of nearly six tons as compared with the corresponding period of last year. This is entirely due to climatic conditions. It was decided to make an advance payment of Is 2d per lb. for finest butterfat. Accounts amounting to £10,174 4s 4d were passed.
