FEATHERSTON
EUCHRE PARTY & DANCE GATHERING AT PAHAUTEA. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a fair attendance at the euchre party and dance held in the Pahautea Hall on Saturday night. The winners of the euchre were: —Ladies: Mrs Warrington, 1; Miss Frew, 2. Men: Mr B. Cade, 1; Mr Ruka, 2. LABOUR DAY POST AND TELEGRAPH HOURS. On Labour Day (October 23), the Featherston Post and Telegraph Office will be closed in all branches with the exception of the Telephone Exchange which will remain open continuously as usual. Mails for despatch will close at 7.30 a.m., and street receivers will be cleared at 7 a.m. The Featherston-Tauherenikau and the Featherslon-Whangaimoana rural deliveries will be suspended for the day. Personal. Mr Cooper, an employee at Mr Fairbrother’s blacksmith’s shop, while engaged at his work, received a cut over the eye from a piece of flying metal. The injury necessitated treatment at the Kelvin Hospital for two days.
