A compulsory conference has been convened by Judge Drake-Brockman, of the Commonwealth Arbitration Court, to discuss the threatened strike by engine drivers in the mining industry. The conference is to be hold at Newcastle on Thursday. Until the conference has been field, it. is considered certain that the men will not. give effect to their plans to go on strike.
