WARDRESS WINS CHIEF EVENT. SPRING TO TORO-KOURA. TIMARU, October 14. The South Canterbury Jockey Club’s spring meeting was held in perfect weather before a large attendance. The track was in splendid order. The totalisator handled £14,468, as against £15,355 10s in October, 1937, the last occasion on which the spring fixture was held.
