WOMEN’S DIVISION

RANGITUMAU BRANCH. COMPETITION WINNERS. The Rangitumau Branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held its monthly meeting in the Hall recently. There was a good attendance of members presided over by Mrs D. James. The numerous entries in the flower competitions made a very gay showing, and some charming effects were achieved. The results were as follow: — Three blooms, Mrs Duckett 'l, Miss I. Harvey 2; one bloom, Miss I. Harvey 1, Miss E. Wilton and Mrs Duckett equal. 2, floating bowl. Miss I. Harvey 1, Mrs Macdonald 2. It was decided to hold the annual dance on October 21, that every effort be made to ensure its being an outstanding success, and that the proceeds be donated to patriotic purposes. The next meeting will be held in the hall, and the competitions will be sponge sandwich, without butter, with butter filling. Bowl of flowers arranged for effect.
