HEAD ON COLLISION
MOTOR FATALITY NEAR NORWOOD. WOMAN DIES FROM INJURIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 15. A woman was killed and five persons were injured when a car struck a stationary car head-on on the Main South Road near Norwood, about 22 miles from Christchurch, about 8 o’clock tonight. The victims were: — DEAD. Mrs Johnston, wife of Mr R. H. Johnston. Dunsandel, who died on the way to hospital. INJURED. Mi’ Johnston, husband of Mrs Johnton. Mrs James Thompson, Christchurch. John Thompson, aged four. Mrs Cummins. Barry Cummins, aged four. All have head injuries. It appears that the car containing the last four was jacked up for repairs when it was struck by the other car containing Mr Johnston and his wife. Mr Thompson and Mrs Cummins, the husbands of the two injured women, were on the road repairing the car, and were not touched by the impact.
