WEDDINGS
O’HARA—LOADER. A wedding of interest io many Wairarapa friends took place in Waipukurau on October 2 when Roy Edwin, elder son of Mr and Mrs J. O’Hara, Ngamu, Masterton, was married to Pattie Warner, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs E. J. Loader, Taueru, Masterton. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming model frock of striped marocain, a small navy and white toque with a long veil, and a smart mermaid-blue swagger coat. Miss N. Loader attended her sister as bridesmaid, wearing a two-piece suit in brown and mustard. Both the bride and bridesmaid carried bouquets of freezias and maiden-hair fern. Mr A. Hubbard, of Pahiatua, was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Rongamau Tearooms where Mrs E. Loader, wearing a two-piece suit in blue and grey, and assisted by Mrs J. O’Hara in a navy and white ensemble, received the guests. Mr and Mrs Roy d’Hara left later for the north. Their future home will be in Waipukurau. DRYSDALE—GUNN. On Thursday last at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, Woburn Road, Lower Hutt, Mary MacDonald Bowlzer, second daughter of Mr and Mrs G. M. Gunn. Pahiatua, was married to. Grant, eldest son of Mr and Mrs James Drysdale, of Nireaha. SUTHERLAND—DAYSH. A very pretty wedding took place recently at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral. Wellington, when Valda Enid, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Daysh, Carterton, was married to Norman Dudley, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. D. Sutherland, Coleraine, Northern Ireland.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of delicate pearl pink tinted satin, made on slim fitting lines, and finished with tiny satin buttons to the waist. Her tulle veil, caught with a cluster of orange blossoms, was worn over the face into the church. She carried a. sheaf of winter roses, hyacinths and carnations, in harmony with her gown. The bridesmaid, Miss Lillian Bond, wore a gown of clover embossed georgette, with a veil falling to the shoulders, from a topnot of lilac. Her sheaf was of anemonies and sweet peas toning with her frock. Mr C. Wilkins, Wellington, was best man.
The reception was held in the Mayfair Cabaret, where the guests were received by Mrs F. Daysh, wearing a navy tailored costume and smart spring hat, trimmed with cyclamen shades. She also wore a shoulder spray of cyclamen. When Mr and Mrs N. Sutherland left on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a mill green tailored coat with black' accessories and a beautiful fox fur, a gift from the bridegroom.
