WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT KAHUTARA. ("Tiines-Age” Special.) The Kahutara Women’s Institute held a meeting in the local hall oh Tuesday. Mrs McKenna presided. Mrs Duffy was appointed delegate to the conference at Martinborough. Miss Corlett tendered her resignation as Press correspondent, Mrs Ackerman being elected to the position. A letter in regard to the billeting of refugees in the event of an evacuation from cities was held over. At the next meeting there will be a sales tables, the proceeds from which will be used for gifts for the Christmas tree. Demonstrations were given by Mrs Pottinger, Miss Hood and Miss Nikolaisen. The competitions resulted as follows: Victorian posy. Mrs Duffy 1. Mrs M. Wilson 2. Mrs D. Wilson 3. Best bloom, Mrs M. Wilson 1, Mrs R. Welch 2, Mrs L. McKenna 3.
