Accused of Insulting People and Leaders \ EARLY GERMAN-RUSSIAN CONSULTATIONS PREDICTED BY “WELL-INFORMED” NAZIS (By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, October 13. The British United Press correspondent in Berlin'says well-informed Nazis predict early German-Russian consultations, into which Italy may also be drawn, for the purpose of a joint declaret ion. The official German radio fiercely assails Air Chamberlain and adds: “England wants to destroy Germany and the German nation. Her war-mongers want, to fight. Germany, so we will show them how to fight.” The “ Voelkischer Beobaehter” says the speech was inspired by international criminal war-mongers. The “Allgemeine Zeitung” says Mr Chamberlain proved his responsibility for the war. The official German news agency in a long diatribe says Mr Chamberlain left the impression that Britain’ desires war, irrespective’ of anything Germany may say or offer. The Berlin correspondent of the British United Press says the official “Diplomatische Korrespondenz” declares that Mr Chamberlain has interpreted as weakness the goodwill which the German people, through the Buehrer’s mouth, showed to the British and French peoples. Herr Hitler’s readiness for peace was prompted by a genuine sense of European responsibility, but Mr Chamberlain answered it by shamefully insulting Ihe German people and leaders. It. adds that the German people honestly desired to come to terms with England and even live in friendship on Ihe basis that each should work in its own sphere nudist orbed by the ot her. “England envies the German people its benevolent fate,” the,paper continues. “Filled with jealousy, England strives to ealnminate the Reich for the purpose of afterward annihilating it. Germany has not forgotten what she must expect from her western adversaries, but she has learned her lesson and knows the road she must travel in order to destroy the aims of her enemies.” , / The Nazi Press .chief, Dr Dietrich, said that Germany hitherto had not attempted to display her air prowess in the west. He recalled that in an attack on the Polish city of Modlin 800 power-driving bombers were unleashed. A similar number operating against British ships would do untold damage.
