Tom George, trainer of Beau Vite, considers the colt had an off week at the Randwick meeting, but he anticipates improved form at Melbourne and is confident of the outcome of the Derby. M. McCarteh will ride Broadcaster in the Debutant Stakes, Applause in the Debutante Stakes, Pure Gold in the Caulfield Guineas, and Rexfelt in the 1010 Welter or Toorak Handicap at Caulfield on Saturday. Pure Gold showed signs of slight soreness yesterday, but was all right today. Trainer Holt expects Pure Gold to put Up a good race in the Caulfield Guineas.
