MR CHAMBERLAIN’S SPEECH STRONG DENUNCIATION OF AGGRESSION. CHEERED IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day. 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, October 12. Mr Chamberlain's manner, from the beginning of his speech in which he rejected the Nazi peace proposals, indicated that a firm and uncompromising pronouncement could be expected. He stood stiffly upright, his face stern and his voice raised more than usual. As he referred to the Polish bombings and slaughter, his tone became bitter and his reference to Herr Hitler's undertakings which had not been kept was spoken with sharp sarcasm, while there was impatience when he spoke of Herr Hitler’s desire for a conference. with which he could do as he pleased. Members cheered the announcement that Britain would not accept such a basis. The cheers were frequent and increasing in intensity.
