WAR PROBLEMS
— COMMITTEE OF ECONOMISTS IN AUSTRALIA. APPOINTED TO ADVISE CABINET. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. CANBERRA, October 11. A special committee has been- appointed to investigate continuously war time financial and economic problems. This committee, headed by Professor L. F. Giblin, Professor of Economics at Melbourne University, will advise the War Cabinet on such matters as taxation measures made necessary by the war, including taxation of wartime profits; effects from the national fin • ance and economic structure of possible interference with shipping; problems of war employment, and remedying of weakness in the national structure disclosed by war conditions generally. The committee will consist of lead’' Ing economists.
