The developent of the apple juice industry in the United States was described by the manager of the New Zealand Federation (Mr A. Osborne) speaking al a meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Fruitgrowers Association. A drink called apple brandy had been manufactured, nicknamed "New Jersey Lightning,” said Mr Osborne. After he had sampled two glasses of this drink, he quite believed it was true to name, said the speaker.
