REGENT THEATRE

“THERE’S THAT WOMAN AGAIN." “There’s That Woman Again,” “that woman” being Sally Reardon of “There’s Always a Woman” fame —will be here again and again, according to , Hollywood advices. Columbia Studios, producers of the popular comedy-mys-teries, indicate that the Reardon adventures will be continued indefinitely, presumably with Melvyn Douglas and Virginia Bruce in the starring roles. “There’s That Woman Again” is the second of the series, with Douglas again essaying the chief role as the wife-troubled Bill Reardon and Virginia Bruce portraying the troublesome wife, Sally. The new comedy will be .shown tonight at the Regent Theatre. Featured in the cast of “There’s That Woman Again” are Margaret Lindsay, Stanley Ridges, Jonathan Hale and Pierre Watkins. Jack Holt soars to brilliant new heights with his performance in Columbia’s “The Strange Case of Dr. Meade,” the associate feature. Despite these seeming departures from the typical Holt performance, “The Strange Case of Dr. Meade” may easily be ranked as one of his best. Filled with thrills and action, the new Columbia drama tells a human story of down-to-earth people, with believable characters and natural incidents. Noah Beery Junr., and Beverly Roberts supply the romantic interest of the new film, appearing as small-town youngsters. Backwoods types are splendidly enacted by Paul Everton, Barbara Pepper, Russell Simpson, Helen Jerome Eddy, John Qualen, Jay Ward, Harry Woods, Arthur Aylesworth, Victor Potel and others. “SONG OF THE PLAINS.” Box plans are-now open at Nimmo’s and at theatre for the glorious musical romance, “Song of the Plains,” featuring the golden voiced Nelson Set amid the great outdoors, thrilling adventure and romance ride side by side with the star rendering stirring melodies. Early booking is advised.
