DEFENCE COUNCIL
CONSTITUTED IN BURMA. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 10. In Burma, as elsewhere, war conditions have necessitated a redistribution of functions both in the structure of the Government and in the relations of the Government to the industries of the country and activities of the civilian population. The Governor of Burma, Sir Archibald Cochrane, has constituted a Burma Defence Council, the purpose of which is to facilitate the expeditious disposal of the manifold questions which, in the war condition, affect the' responsibilities of several Departments of Govern- 1 rnent and the interests of various elements in the community. .
