ADDINGTON SALE. DECLINE IN CATTLE PRICES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. October 11. Values for the principal sections of the fat stock sale held in Addington today were much the same as for those of last week. About 1000 store sheep were yarded and the sale all round was good. Medium and good hoggets sold at from 14s ' 9d to 28s 6d, ewes and lambs at from 8s 8d to 13s, and two-tooth wethers to 23s 9d. Some excellent quality spring lambs were yarded and sold at lid to 13d a lb. Four thousand five hundred fat sheep were penned. Good prices were realised for the best wethers, but ewe values eased slightly on last week’s rates. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 51s lOd, prime heavy 42s to 465, prime medium 36s to 41s, light to 295; extra prime heavy ewes to 45s 10s, prime heavy 35s to 38s, prime medium 31s to 345, light 20s to 245. About 400 fat cattle were yarded, and the market was inclined to be erratic, a decline of about 15s a head being evident for the greater bulk of the entry. Extra prime heavy steers made £2l to £25- 7s 6d, prime heavy £l7 15s to £2O, prime medium £l6 5s to £lB, light to £l2 10s; extra prime heifers to £2O 2s 6d, prime £l3 to £l5 ss, medium £ll to £l2 ss, light to £lO 10s; extra prime cows to £l7 2s 6d, prime £ll 5s to £l3 10s, medium £9 15s to £ll 15s, light to £9 10s. The entry of porkers was one of the smallest for some years and prices firmed further. Choppers were in fairly heavy supply and prices eased by 10s to 15s a head. Baconers were forward in medium numbers and the sale showed an easing on last week’s. Choppers made £2 8s 6d to £7 Is; porkers £2 9s 6d to £3 7s 6d, an average price a lb of 7Jd to 9d; and baconers £3 5s 6d to £5 14s 6d,_. an average price a lb of 6j|d to 7Jd.

MASTERTON SALE. BRISK DEMAND FOR FAT SHEEP. The Associated Auctioneers report on their Masterton Sale held yesterday when a fair yarding of sheep came forward. Fat sheep met with a brisk sale and slightly increased prices were obtained. In the store pens an exceptionally choice pen of ewe hoggets made 325, while a very good pen of wether hoggets made 21s. The following were the prices:— Fat sheep: Fat woolly wethers 28s 7d, shorn 245, woolly maiden ewes, 24s to 25s 6d; shorn ewes, 12s 9d to 14s lid; prime b.f.’s, 23s to 29s 9d; prime shorn S.D. ewes, 21s 2d; fat hoggets, 21s to 25s 3d. Store Sheep: Extra good woolly ewe hoggets, 325; small ewe hoggets, 20s; very good wether hoggets, 20s 6d, 21s to 21s 9d; medium wether hoggets, 15s 6d to 16s; two-tooth ewes, 21s; aged ewes and lambs, 10s >3d (all counted). Pigs: Good weaners, 25s to 275; weaners, 23s 6d to 245.
