McLintock, director of the comnrittee controlling on exhibition of New Zealand art, that _ Masterton should be included in the itinerary of the display, which was to be shown in the principal towns of New Zealand. Dr McLintock visited Masterton yesterday to discuss the matter and was present at a meeting attended by Mi Jordan, representatives of the borough and county and of the Masterton Sketch Club. It is an exhibition of purely New Zealand work, sponsored by tne Government for the purpose of enabling the public to inspect work by New Zealand artists. The Government would be responsible for transport and insurance, the local authority undertaking to find a suitable hall and provide a nightwatchman. a caretaxer and the necessary labour for handling the exhibits. It was. hoped that the pictures would be on display for a period of nine days, including two weekGl Dr McLintock inspected the Municipal Hall and adjoining rooms and stated that they would be. most suitable for housing the collection for dis--1 Mr Jordan considered that Masterton’s claims for inclusion in the exhibition itinerary were well warranted and he expressed the hope that Di McLintock would make strong representations to that end. At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr McLintock inspected the Sketch Club exhibition.
