AUTHORISATION SOUGHT IN U.S.A. By TclPffranii —"P Association —Conyrlizht. WASHINGTON. October 5. The Post Office and Pan-American Airways today urged the Civil Aeronautics Authority to authorise a passenger and air mail service from California to Australia, via Honolulu. Canton Island, Noumea and Auckland.

Mr Charles Craddick, air mail superintendent. opposed the “stud service” originating from Honolulu. He said the existing trans-Pacific service to Hong Kong should be continued and improved and the new service should originate from the United States.
