“BULLDOG DRUMMOND.” A fabulous treasure in gold and jewels, buried by Royalist soldiers three hundred years ago, forms the basis for “Bulldog Drummond’s” newest adventure in Paramount's exciting drama. “Bulldog Drummond's Secret Police,” ’which will open at the Cosy Theatre tonight. This time, instead of “Drummond” seeking out adventure, adventure seeks out “Drummond,”
when a famed scientist and sinister crook arrive simultaneously to look for a treasure buried in the mysterious depths of “Bulldog’s” own castle. Although “Drummond” himself hopes to be married the next day, he has to put off his nuptials and join the hunt when the crook murders the scientist in cold blood and carries his fiancee off into the trackless chambers. John Howard plays the dapper amateur sleuth for the' sixth time, supported by Heather Angel, Elizabeth Patterson, H. B. Warner and Reginald Denny. A story of home life, packed with laughs, riotous Situations, and human drama, is told in the comedy “Boy Trouble,” the associate feature. As the title suggests, the picture deals with the difficulties experienced by a typical modern family when it accidentally “acquires” a couple of sons and tries to fit them into the family pattern. Charlie Ruggles and Mary Boland, teamed together again for the first time in two years, are the husband and wife who adopt two children “just foi spite” and find out that they save their home. The youngsters in the picture are played by Donald O’Connor, Paramount’s top juvenile star, Billy Lee, Joyce Mathews and John Hartley. A gazette of latest world affairs and a bright cartoon complete the programme. ______
