RED PROPAGANDA
METHODS OF THE RUSSIANS IN POLAND. AGENTS BUSY IN SCHOOLS AND CAMPS'. By Telegraph—Prgss Association —Copyright. LONDON. October 4. The Berlin correspondent of the “New York Times” says that the first account of the Bolshevisation of Polish territory to appear in the German Press states that half a million pictures of Stalin and Lenin have been distributed among the poor in the West Ukraine alone; 1,400,000 Communistic books, cinema films, and gramophone records have beeti kept abreast of the marching troops. Schools have reopened and teachers at evening classes are instructed in the spirit in which tuition in future will be given. Religion and Polish history are no longer taught. Propaganda work is being carried out among war prisoners, and organisations have been founded in every village and hamlet, one of the principal duties of which is to seek class enemies—from the police, army officers, nobles, estate owners and Government officials. INSPIRATION TO POLES. Speaking in the House of Lords of the “heroic and gallant resistance of the Polish forces.” Lord Halifax said it had been an inspiration to the Poles to regain the independence they had temporarily lost, and to all other people. Referring to the fact that the Polish Government had been re-established
on French soil. Lord Halifax observed: “His Majesty’s Government will, of course, recognise as legal the Polish (Government so established, and I have no doubt that the Government will continue to preserve intact the spirit of Polish independence and Polish resistance.” Slating the aims of the new Polish Government, the President, M Racziewicz. stated that the Cabinet was a war cabinet and a cabinet of union. Its task was to form without delay a new army to stand by the Allies and to continue to fight for civilisation. It i had simply picked up on French soil the task of Poland’s courageous soldiers. Poland had always resisted with its utmost strength and thus had assisted its allies to mobilise and con- | centrate. —By radio.
