TIN HARE RACING
OPENING OF SEASON SOLWAY SHOWGROUNDS ON SATURDAY. EXCELLENT ENTRIES RECEIVED. Tin hare racing has thoroughly established itself in New Zealand as a most exciting sport, and Masterton has not’ been backwards in recognising this fact. The sport is very popular with the general public because of its clean character, and the fact that it is the best dog which must win. . The sport is doubtless as exciting to the dogs as to the public, and there are always plenty of thrills forthcoming to hold the deep interest of the spectators throughout.
The tin hare season in Masterton will open at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Solway Showgrounds, when there will be presented a splendid programme of events, in which many of the leading tin-hare greyhounds in the North Island will be seen in contests. There are entrants from Wellington, Wairarapa, Hawke’s Bay, and various other parts of the Wellington Province. In the circumstances, the public are assured of a most enjoyable and exciting afternoon’s sport. z The following are the entries in the various races: — A. & P. MAIDEN STAKES. First Heat —Mrs W.
