It is anticipated that the number of men in the 20 to 22 age group, now being called up for service in Britain, plus those reaching the age of 20 after June 3, will be about a quarter of a million. The provisional registration date is October 21, and the calling up date will be at some time in November. Provision is made for the postponement of liability for service in the case ’of exceptional hardship. Eight thousand militiamen will be taken in the navy and fourteen thousand in the Air Force. Those not liaole are persons not ordinarily resident in Britain who, under the provisions of any Act in the Dominions, are citizens thereof or wre born or are domiciled in a Dominion, British protectorate or mandated protectorate. Cadets, ministers of religion, lunatics and blind persons are also exempt from registration.
